Doe's and Seersucker Pants

Saturday, February 05, 2011

We got to get out of the house tonight! :)

This morning was pretty rough.. I woke up with a swollen throat and did not feel good at all. Thankfully, Mackenzie napped good today. All of our snow we have been getting completely melted today.

Mackenzie and I went out to eat at Doe's with my parents, Kaci, and Erik.

Erik's parents live in Texas.. Since the weather was so bad, they had to cancel their trip to NWA. It was the first birthday that he didn't get to see his parents, so I am glad we all got to go eat with him.

Erik's steak. He ate the entire thing! Mom, Kaci and I split a steak this size.

It was soo yummy!

Duffy and Mackenzie!

Kaci and Erik!

I worked on these sweet pants today while M napped...

I love the little bows on the sides..

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!
Dustin went out to dinner and a movie with a friend of his.

Dustin and I are going to a Super Bowl party tomorrow night with our Life Group. I still don't know who I am going for.. I don't get in to the NFL as much as College Football.

-Mackenzie's Favorite Foods-

Friday, February 04, 2011

We are on Snow Day #4 in the River Valley! It has been snowing since 8 this morning and has not let up at all. I am linking up to Kelly's Show Us Your Life Friday.

Today's Subject: What do you feed your kids?

Thankfully I have a wonderful eater! She only has two teeth, but she eats almost everything that we do. (I have Mrs. Sherry to thank for all the variety)

When we first started feeding Mackenzie baby food, we pureed everything ourselves. It was so healthy for her and so good to our wallets! I averaged $1 on what would have cost me $8 if I would have bought the pre made yucky stuff! I learned how to puree and got most of my recipes from Weelicious. She has wonderful recipes, and the foods are appealing to the kids!

Mackenzie's current favorites are
-Yogurt (Any flavor except Blackberry)
-Oatmeal
-Fish Sticks
-Green beans
-Carrots
-Fruit Granola Bars
-Marshmallows
-Puffs
-Yogurt Melts
-White Rice
-Grilled Cheese
-Scrambled Eggs
-Any kind of soup
-Pickles

Mackenzie also loves Spaghetti but it breaks her skin out so we try not to give her too many tomato based foods.. I hate it because she LOVES tomatoes!

Here is a video of Mackenzie a couple weeks ago after dinner. She wanted her wipe after I cleaned her face off, and the jabbering began! I laugh every time I see this video!

Reed's Birthday Party and Interview

Thursday, February 03, 2011

Wednesday, we had another Snow Day! Kaci and Erik were still here, so we played more cards and hung out at my parents for a little while.

Dustin and I went to Reed's 2nd Birthday party Wednesday night! I cannot believe he is two!

Reed's little brother Drake is 5 1/2 months old... Mackenzie was loving on his chair the whole time!

Poor Drake... She was standing on the ground chewing on his toy!

I love her pink Polo Dress!

The Birthday Boy!!

I had an interview today! :) I was supposed to have it on Tuesday but the ice cancelled that! Kaci helped me with my poof! haha! I think that all girls that live in Fayetteville have to partake in a poof making class.. Have you seen those college girls?? They LOVE their poof!

My interview went really well! They actually scheduled my follow up interview with the Department Head for tomorrow morning! :)

When I got home I thought of a thousand things that I could have said, but I didn't so I will let it go :)

And just so you know how crazy Kaci and I can be :)

We had a lot of fun this week.. They had to go back tonight.. The school called and they are opening at 9:30 in the morning...

This week, Kaci tried actual coffee for the first time... the perfect term "Coffee Drunk".. After one cup she was PINGING off the walls! It was insane - No lie!

And Erik made his profound statements:

"This is intense... And I'm not talking about camping"

On Tuesday he said, "TGIF, Thank God it's February"

Dustin had to work all week! I hate that he has to get out in this nasty weather! He was greeted with a very messy house these last few days! I finally caught up with laundry tonight!

Snow (ICE) Day!

Tuesday, February 01, 2011

Monday night, they were predicting a really bad ice storm headed our way. Kaci was in her meeting at Zeta, and she decided her and Erik would come hang out with us for a few days.

They got to our house late Monday night and I agreed we would keep Mackenzie at home.

I guess I was in complete denial when I was watching the weather and decided I would wait to grab some extra groceries! Erik and I drove to the store in the SLEET Tuesday morning. It was pretty scary... And apparently everyone in town needed groceries.

We played cards and Guitar Hero all day on Tuesday!

Kaci was handing Mackenzie Erik's cards and M would flip them over :)

M wanted all in the Guitar Hero action...

Pushing Kaci's buttons :)

Lovin the Snow Day at home!

I made Mackenzie this Valentine's Day shirt Monday night and tried in on her the next night. This picture was before I washed it... It is even cuter after it frayed some more!

Weekend Wrap Up

Monday, January 31, 2011

Friday afternoon, I decided I wanted to make a new dress with some fabric I had found on the clearance at Hobby Lobby. I had a little helper :)

She sat in pure amazement watching the sewing machine!

The dress!

iPhone quality and the fact that I took it riding in the car make for an awful picture!

Jared and Cassen drove in from Denver to pick up their puppy, Gene!

We miss them already but are more than proud of them!!

Saturday, Mom, M and I went to Fayetteville to see my sister! Kaci put this on M while we were at Riffraff.. I LOVE this store! If you are ever in NWA, you should go check it out!

A girl was trying on a dress that Kaci wanted and it was taking forever for her to come out of the dressing room (there was only one dress left) so M and I went out on the square and had a photo shoot.

Erik pointed out to me that it looks like Mackenzie is holding
a camera taking a picture of herself :)

It was so beautiful on Saturday! I love how the sun was shining so bright in the pictures.

We stopped by Rick's Bakery also.. Kaci loves going here! It did not disappoint.

I got a Petit Four (I hope I spelled that right) I had to ask mom how to pronounce it just to order it :) and I would have snapped a picture of it but I devoured it on the way too the mall!

We were all too tired to shop so we dropped Kaci back off at her dorm and headed home!

Sunday, we went to church. We had an amazing Life Group, and Dustin and I had Nursery! We were in Room D this time! We are moving on up in the Nursery world.. haha! We were exhausted when we left!

Mackenzie is obsessed with the dogs and being outside....So when it is too cold for her to help daddy feed the dogs, I hold her so she can watch him. She was making window faces at him :)

American Idol Love Story

Dustin and I watched American Idol last night in tears! What an incredible man.

High School Memories: Ramen Noodle Edition

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Dustin went to Walmart tonight for a few things.... He came home with several bags of Ramen Noodles. I almost died. I immediately began to teach him how to eat them raw! :)

I can honestly still hear the way the bag sounds... I remember taking a bag of these and a Dr. Pepper to lunch every single day! I remember crunching the bag a thousand times until the raw noodles were small enough to eat. I remember pouring the seasoning in and shaking it like crazy to make sure every little piece had season on it. I remember not being able to finish a whole bag during lunch... I remember having 4 half full bags in my backpack at the end of the week :)

Crazy how food can take you back to high school memories!

Then again.... Those were days that we thought we were cool if we dressed like this to a Thursday night pep rally! I am sure my mom is so proud! haha!!
