Memorial Day Weekend!

Warning: This is long!

We had a wonderful holiday weekend! I really enjoy those three day weekends!

Friday night, Mom, Kaci, Mackenzie and I made a trip to Fort Smith to get just a 'few' things and we ended up getting home way later than we had planned on. No wonder I really had to convince Mom to go, she knows how we are!

Mom got her a new pair of Chacos for the summer and we picked up some things at Academy. A new life jacket for Mackenzie and some cute nike shorts and tanks. From what we have heard St Thomas is the most laid back place ever, so we intend to dress the part!

At Chick fil A
Their new cookies are heavenly!!!!

I had to run in to a store, and Mackenzie got impatient so her crazy Aunt let her get out of her seat and sit in the back while we were parked. This girl thought we was big stuff!

--Saturday--

We headed to Hot Springs... Duff doesn't like to be on the lake that very first weekend since it is so crowded, and we heard the water was still very cold, Duff suggested we go to Magic Springs/Crystal Falls.

Mackenzie got to ride three rides, and then we headed to the water park side. It was an honest mess. The parks are gorgeous and very well kept, but the people. Oh, the people. It was a different breed. I can't make this stuff up. The women were averaging in at 300 pounds and they were wearing clothes smaller than mine! And the men were just plain filthy. I know, I sound like a snob.. You just had to be there. I am sure we had our noses snarled the whole time.

Mom had paid a little bit extra per ticket so we could see Charlie Daniels Band that night at the concert, but we agreed that we were ready to go after just a couple of hours. Since the concert was at the park, it was going to be the same crowd, and Duff suggested we go buy some bleach to shower off with. It was rough!!

Leaving my parents house! Excuse the bed head!

About to get on Mackenzie's first ride!

After we left the park, we were walking out to the parking lot when a big radio show bus comes pulling up, and guess who was sitting in the front seat? Yep, Charlie Daniels!! A guy ran over and he opened the door and said hi to everyone!

So my mom read somewhere that if you leaned forward in your pictures, it would make your waist look smaller, we couldn't keep from laughing!!

Love my American sweetheart!
I snapped this right after Duff was doing his impression of us! :)

Mackenzie, Kaci, Mom and I are on the go, and when we stay in a hotel, we usually order pizza the first night and have it delivered to the hotel. So..... When we got back to the room Saturday night, Mackenzie screamed, "HEY, I want Pizza!!!!" It was so funny! We have made her a creature of habit!

Going to dinner

Duff took us to eat at the best place ever! Seriously. My tastebuds were flipping out!

It was called Central Park Fuzion, and all the meals are designed to fuse different cultures together. Honestly, I was starving and pretty skeptical of the place. We got spinach and artichoke dip for appetizer along with Duck Egg Rolls. When the dip came out, all I was thinking is if  I can eat as many chips possible, then I can pull the Im.already.full card and not have to suffer through any weird food choices. I was so glad  I didn't do that. Everything was so good! It's just unexplainable! Kaci's hawaiian steak was by far the best thing I have ever had!

After Miss Priss finished her meal, she had a dance party with another 2 year old! They were hilarious! I have some videos of them that I need to upload, and even her mom was complaining about Magic Springs. They were visiting from Memphis and she was shocked that the people were so gross!

Mom and Kaci ran to Walgreens on the way back for some milk. Check out homegirl in the mismatched pink workout clothes and the red high heels! She was something else! :)

--Sunday--

We got around and ventured downtown Hot Springs before heading home. It is gorgeous! We strolled pass all of the bath houses and old stores/boutiques, stopped and ordered cupcakes at Fat Bottom Girl Cupcakes, Duff took us to eat at Rod's pizza (again he killed it with the food choices! this makes up for the back Magic Springs choice! haha) and bought a new tube for the boat before heading home!

Mackenzie was counting all of her money.. Kaci was teaching her the difference with all the different coins, she is picking up everything we say to her!

This hospital is huge! You can barely see us at the bottom!

Bath houses....

A small cave

I did not know that they had several fountains in town that you can fill up your containers for free and take home! pretty neat!

Cupcake shop

Sleepy girl on the way home!

My sister will kill me! :) but they look alike!

Mackenzie is obsessed with these Flavor Ice Popsicles!

And with her pops and his iPad!
She can work this thing by herself!

Kaci came home with me Sunday night, and the neighborhood kids were all playing ball. Since Mackenzie isn't allowed to go in the street (I know, mean momma!!) Kaci sat with her at the end of the driveway to watch all of them play!

--Monday--

We got up pretty early, and Kaci and I looked up some fun excursions for while we are in St. Thomas! Swimming with sea turtles, kayaking, snorkeling, parasailing! Oh I can't wait!

We headed to moms, and then went to the pool at Chamberlynne while Duff fished and golfed. Great relaxing day! and very very HOT!!

let me check my phone first!
What?!
What do I have to do to get decent service?

Passed out with Cheeto in hand!

And if you made it through this whole post, I am sure you look like that too!! Hope everyone had a great weekend! We are more than thankful for all the militaries and their families, and especially our hero Dustin!

NeNe and Pops Anniversary!

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Today is my parents anniversary! We have so much fun with our parents! Funny that just a few years ago we thought that they didn't know anything, and now I have lunch with my mom every day, and we talk on the phone several times a day (and its not just because she is my boss!) I ask her things like "Do I use Garlic Powder or Garlic Salt on my bread?" "And "Can you believe what the douche bag on Bachelorette said last night?" (Oh wait, that last one was asked by my mother!! haha)

And Duff isn't too bad himself! Always offering great advice on life, and he is always there to let you know how good looking he is. Always :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

I will post about our fun weekend tomorrow. Too many pictures to sift through tonight!

Change of Plans

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

Took Mackenzie to the Pediatrician this morning to get her Pre-op paperwork done..

I mentioned the bleeding incident she had in the lab the other night to the Dr, and she calmly said "Mom, I am canceling her surgery as of right now" (And by the way, she is the only person who can call me Mom besides Mackenzie.. I hate when others call me Mom!!) Anyways..... She said that we couldn't take any chances on the ENT getting in to surgery and her bleeding uncontrollably.

We had to go downstairs and get lots and lots of blood work done after that. Mackenzie sat in my lap and the two lab techs worked together to get everything they needed. She ended up with a sucker from the Pediatrician and two suckers from the lab, and they hooked her up with the hot pink wrap for her arm.

Mackenzie has been learning a lot of things at Sherry's lately. She has been talking my ear off. So in with "Nananana Boo Boo" and "I wanna help you" she has also picked up "Don't do that again!" And she wasn't shy to tell the lab tech that!

We will reschedule her surgery after we get all of the lab results back in. I did get a call today that there was one test completed (for blood clot) and it came back normal.

In other random news, M asked for ranch dressing last night with her pizza. She has hated ranch since we tried giving her a tomato from a salad with ranch on it. I was definitely surprised when she requested it.

I have to get off here and watch the Revenge Season finale! I'm hooked!!

Prepping for Surgery

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

On Sunday, I met my mom and sisters at the mall for a little bit and came across this outfit at Dillard's. Kaci said that Dustin's child had to own this shirt :)

He loved it! And I love this little poser I have on my hands!

I left work early yesterday to take Mackenzie up to the doctors office. She is having surgery on Thursday, and she had to have her blood drawn. She is having her Adenoids removed and he is going to look at her Tonsils as well to determine if they need to come out, and while she is under they are going to do an Environmental Allergy Test on her. We should have an exciting Memorial Day weekend!

She is showing off her bandaid from where they drew blood. After the lady had a couple tubes full, Mackenzie started bleeding like a stuck hog. She had to get another lady grab a ton of gauze to try and help, and then they had me run her to the sink. It finally stopped after a few minutes, and she was rewarded a sucker from the sweet girl!

We came back from the doctors office and barely made it to the gym on time. Thankfully there was hardly anyone there for our Zumba class which is not normal at all, but Jessica made up for it by kicking our tails. I am so sore today!

Playing outside after the gym!

And devoring an omelet for dinner. Check out those long legs!

I love this messy girl! Hoping that she has a speedy recovery after surgery!

Wedding Wednesday: Groom Addition

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

We are 5.5 weeks away from the big day! I cannot believe how fast time is flying by... I need life to slow down just for the moment!

The Wedding Planner that we hired has been so so so good! I have seriously not done hardly anything and haven't worried about a whole lot. She just emails me when she needs another thing checked off the list, and I will email her back with our decision.

Kaci asked me this weekend what earrings I wanted her and Hannah to wear. I joked with mom that I honestly hadn't even thought about it, because Janelle (our wedding planner) hasn't emailed me asking what earrings my sisters will wear. haha... maybe I should start pulling all of this Hod Podge together!

Anyways.... while mom was cooped up in the house after her surgery, she found this on Dillard's website. This is the Perry Ellis Herringbone Linen pant and vest. I LOVE this! This has honestly turned out to be dressier than I had expected, and that all started with one of our first purchases.. My Dress. It's gorgeous, but that meant Dustin was going to have to dress a little more formal than I had planned. I first thought we needed to to a khaki pant and jacket to go with the look of everything else, but if you know Dustin at all, you know how wide his shoulders are. A jacket just wouldn't work. I think it would look too sloppy, and we don't have enough time to get it custom fit for him.

We ran to Dillard's before we met Kaci to pick M up on Thursday night, and they had this set 40% OFF!!! The vests looked pretty wide, and since Dustin wasn't there to try it on, I was able to get the vest in two different sizes and I will return the one that does not fit. And I ordered the pants in his size while we were there.. they arrived yesterday! My dad is going to wear the same thing as Dustin, and I think it will look so nice on them! All we need for them are the white button down shirts!

This is the look we are going for on Dustin...

AND, I have purchased Mackenzie's flower girl dress!

Kinda funny how everything has fallen into place for the wedding. I have to be honest, I have been praying a LOT that God show me that it is His will for Dustin and I to get married. I hope that doesn't sound awful, I just need the reassurance every once in a while and I do love Dustin, I just pray its God's will. And He proves that to me more times than I can count.  Anyways.... I have had a rough stinking week and that is putting it so nicely! To top everything off, I was sweeping off the back deck on Monday night and my sweet daughter was playing. I said "Mackenzie, where is mommy's phone?" She said "Oh phone!" and ran over to her bike. I knew at that point that she had put it in the cubby hole on the back of her Radio Flyer trike, but I didn't expect the cubby to be full of water. Yep, thats right. Iphone 4 in the freaking water! You have to be kidding me? Really? After the week I had? Dustin was quick to calm me down, and I went the next morning to get it fixed! (Thankfully it only cost me $20 and its back to normal!!)

While I was in town, Mom and I ran into a couple of dress shops. Didn't find what we wanted, but the girl at Always and Forever had a rack downstairs that was discontinued dresses. My mom picked this US Angels dress off the rack and I fell in love right there in the basement of a dress shop. The only dress I liked and the only one she had in that style. Size 3T!!!!!!!! No way! We went back upstairs and put the dress up to dresses that looked similar to Hannah and Kaci's, and it is absolutely precious. Oh yea, and since it's discontinued, this $100 dress cost me $40!

Like I said, things are just falling in place for this wedding! And let's hope they keep going this way!

Mother's Day Weekend

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Last week, Kaci offered to keep Mackenzie for two nights in Fayetteville since she was done with all of her finals! I was so excited! I haven't had hardly any "me" time in the last several months, and my brain instantly started thinking up things around the house that I could do.

We ate at Fridays on Wednesday in Fort Smith, and Kaci took M from there. Kaci and Mackenzie were both so excited. M kept saying "Bye Mommy, Bye Nene" over and over. When I got home, the house was crazy quiet.. I had forgotten what that felt like and I had no clue what to even do with myself!

They sent me all sorts of fun pictures of Erik coming over to play,  painting toes before 8:30 the next morning, eating Einstein Bagels for breakfast....

Thursday, Mom and I decided I would skip Zumba and we would go to Cross My Arts Girls Night Out. We went and had fun shopping and looking around. We talked to Kaci when we left, and M was running a high fever and was very cranky. We just decided to meet them to pick M up.

M letting me cradle her.... Definitely knew she was sick!

M ran a fever all night and was having a hard time catching her breath. I called the pediatricians office and they insisted I go to the ER because of her breathing.... I understood their concern, but knew it would take several hours before we even saw a Dr at the ER. I called my mom for advise, and she told me to just go to a clinic we use in Fort Smith thats super quick.

The Dr. wanted to do a Strep screen, and as soon as the nurse had M open her mouth to do the swab, the nurse said "Oh Yea! This baby has strep, I can tell by looking." Test came back and we went home with a perscription and a few suckers!

Now I know this sounds horrible, but M felt fine after her fever broke and we started her antibiotic. We had planned the weekend before to stay the night in Fayetteville on Friday night and have a girls night. Mom didn't think we would go since M was sick but I called her at 5 on Friday and we decided to go ahead. We are seriously on the go all the time and M does not do good at all being cooped up in the house.

Side note: When we did show up to the hotel Friday night in our Under Armour sweats and M wearing a Pink Tutu, we were greeted by all of these people leaving in very dressy clothes. We found out the next morning that Rick Santorum had spoken at the hotel.

I didn't sleep a wink Friday night because I was checking on M all night and because she snores like her Pop!!! We got up, had breakfast and went for a little shopping. I have been wanting a pair of Chacos since my sister talked about how much she loved the ones she got last year... I bought those and a Coach purse before LUNCH TIME! I was sweating so bad I couldn't stand it. I texted Dustin at least 5 times making sure it was okay! I don't impulse buy, and that was a major impulse. And mom picked up my Mother's day present from Dustin... A new pair of Coach Sunglasses! Yes, I am spoiled and yes I am a tad embarrassed about all the stuff I got. Mom and Dustin had planned ahead of time that she would pick those up for him and give them to me for Mother's Day, but with mom having surgery, there was no way for her to take care of that before hand, and we ended up getting to use a coupon to help save a lot!

Mackenzie and I stayed outside a lot of the stores on Saturday... She was dying to play and since I was still sweating from buying so much, I decided to hang out with her!

Mackenzie through at least 50 pennies in to the fountain, but she did share some with the little boys next to her. I was so proud of her. She was going up to them to give them more and kept saying "here babe" Dustin says this a lot, so M has picked it up too!

We left the Promenade, ate and decided to head to the Razorback baseball game.. .After we got through the Graduation traffic, M had fallen asleep in the car. She had a lot of fun at the "Bball Game" She was cracking us up saying "Aww Man, Come on Guys!"

Mom let Mackenzie play with this little Coach Wristlet, and she won't let go of it. She has some points cards to random stores that we hardly use, and you can see she even took a nap with her purse.

After her nap we got ready to meet the fam for lunch

Mackenzie and I.. Notice that stinking purse on the table!

Me, Mom, Kaci, Memaw and Mackenzie

Mackenzie and Kaci

Erik, M and Kaci
(Any time we are out in public with Kaci, people think she is Mackenzie's mom! Everyone always makes comments to Kaci when I am standing right there, and the waitors have started asking Kaci what she is going to order M to eat. Its hilarious!)

Nene and Mackenzie

And our best attempt at a picture of us three. Between the wind blowing Kaci's fedora off and Mackenzie in the bottom of the pics, I ended up with some funny outtakes!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's day! I still keep forgetting that I am a part of this holiday!
